The KiNESIS project is looking for highly qualified and motivated students with diverse backgrounds who are willing to contribute to the development of shrinking areas through their knowledge and skills. The main goal of the KiNESIS Internship programme is to give successful candidates the opportunity to improve their skills in an international environment and at the same time carry out a vacancy with a tangible social impact on the hosting communities.

Students who can apply: 

  • Bachelor, Master and PhD students of the partner universities of the KiNESIS project
  • Bachelor, Master and PhD students of the associated partner universities of the KiNESIS project

Main requirements for the applicants:

  • Have an excellent command of English and possibly in the language of the hosting country or willingness to learn it. 
  • Good IT skills;
  • Excellent drafting and communication skills;
  • Capable of working in a multicultural and international team environment.
  • Available for at least 3 months up to a maximum of 6 months

  • Select the vacancy from the list of KiNESIS open vacancies that best fits your interests and course of study
  • Prepare your Europass CV, a motivation letter and a reference letter 
  • Fill in the form with the information requested

When to apply: 

We recruit interns on an ongoing basis and applications are accepted throughout the year.

Selection process: 

 

Selection is based on the CV, the motivation letter and an online interview with the Selection Committee composed of the KiNESIS Coordinator (Prof. Johanna Monti), the Internship Coordinator (Ms. Jacomien Kooiker), representatives of the sending and hosting institutions.

During your interview, you will be asked a mix of questions pertaining to the vacancy, as well as competency questions based on those referred to in the vacancy description.

Erasmus mobility Grant

If selected, students are eligible for an Erasmus mobility grant according to the rules and deadlines set forth by the sending institution. 

Activities entrusted to interns include: 

  • Attending the KiNESIS Virtual Training Class and the various seminars on Shrinking areas offered by the Program;
  • Participating in the preparation of studies and documents;
  • Carrying out research and reviews of existing materials;
  • Collecting, organising and analysing data;
  • Participating in meetings and seminars;
  • Liaising and building networks with interns, researchers, stakeholders, etc;
  • Contributing to the organisation of events, communication, planning and evaluation.
